Spoken Prayer // Help Me to Feel What I Know

Feeling, and knowing and trusting, can work together, but it takes time for what you know to become what you trust, and for what you know to lead your feelings. In this prayer I am asking God to help remind me again, that what I want to do is to feel from the knowing, from the center, the source, from God. To know God is to trust God.

As I reflect I think,I know that feelings come from belief. What I am really getting at here, is that even if you know, you can not trust those feelings to be true, and you can doubt those feelings, even the feelings that follow and come from what you believe. So what I am really asking here, is for God to help me reestablish those feelings that come from belief. When I was much younger, I had gotten caught up in a situation which caused me to doubt all my feelings. Of course, at that time, I felt disconnected from God, before I really understood what had happened. As I healed, and regrew, I came to learn, that I had never disconnected from God, I only had thought that I did. My thoughts needed to be cleaned up, and then my feelings needed to be cleaned up and sorted out, and after a long process of self-awareness, was I able to trust those feelings again, and feel more connected to God, without all the hype, or high emotion, that I had been presented with before.

In my case, I met God when I was 2. I had a genuine understanding and connection with God, and that was corrupted by a false sense of connection that I learned (had been taught). The false sense was that there was a mixture of real and false teaching that was so intertwined, that it was not possible to discern and understand the flaws when I was of a younger mind. What I had to do, was then let go of what I had been taught and fall back to the real and genuine connection that I had with God when I younger. I can tell you, and I speak truly, that the best one to teach you about God, is God Himself. If you submit to that teaching, then you will get a much freer and truer picture of things. I think about Peter and Paul, and the dream about what foods that they were permitted to eat. Man lives in a world full of laws, you can read about between Exodus and Deuteronomy, and learn that 10 simple commands where expounded to 613 commands. For those who live in the world, the 613 need to be studied and observed, but for those who take God as the teacher, the 10 are sufficient, and for those who model Christ, only two are needed to be remembered.

Spoken Prayer // Identity as Child of God

When feeling disconnected from God, or feeling distant from God, or just wanting to feel closer, it can be helpful to restate the affirmations of who you are, the basic things that we are promised from the Bible. After feeling what is said in this song, you may feel more alive. Belief leads feeling. When you believe, then you will feel. Believe that you are connected to God, and the feelings will follow. In all cases, train yourself to know that you are always connected to God, whether you can feel it or not.

In life we can seem broken, sick, in need of repair, and in need of restoration. We can feel like everything is lost, or that no thing better is possible to happen. When we allow God, that is trust in His ability to heal us, to restore us, to trust Him to lead us through that process, and give up our selfish desire to do it on our own, but look to God to rescue us, as no other can, than we find that God can, and God will restore, renew, and bring life back into our hearts, minds, soul, and spirit. Like never before, God can, and God will.

Spoken Prayer // Thank You for a New Way

It is good, and it brings joy, when we come to that place, where we fully realize that God has a plan for us, or for what we are going through. We get to that place, where we are ready to throw up our hands, and toss in the towel, and give up, and we come to God one last time, and see that a corner has been turned, God gives us new perspective, and we see anew, again, a new plan, a new understanding, and we are filled, renewed, restored with hope, and lifted up once again.

Spoken Prayer // Overcome Stumbling Blocks

For those times, when you feel caught in the under toe, or taken by surprise. Those triggers from your past, become stumbling blocks, and cause us to react in reactive ways, to not handle situations the best. So I pray for those stumbling blocks and those triggers to become known to me so that I can deal with them.

One successful technique to become less reactive is to practice fire drills, that is to prepare for events and situations in advance, before they ever happen. That way when you face a situation, you can act with a plan, and without a storm of emotions. Preparing means to deal with an event or situation without being fully emotionally engaged. One thing that I practice is removing myself from emotions, and then accessing a situation, once clarity has set in, then I engage emotions to help and support the plan of action.

One thing to note, is that to avoid stumbling blocks, one must become aware of the fact that, you can avoid them, and that it is possible to reach that goal. To do this, you must believe that your life can change, and that you have some kind of input and choice into making that come about. It is not you alone that brings about this shift, but your shear desire to no longer wanting to stumble, and an adjustment in desire to long for peace and harmony, along with outside help, can make this a reality for anyone who wishes it. In other words, if you repeat the same behavior you may repeat the same consequences. This is an adjustment is no longer wanting to repeat the same behavior, to instead make new and different choices, which lead a different direction. When you no longer crave drama in your life, and you want out, then this kind of prayer is a gateway of hope, that you can find a way out.

Spoken Prayer // Show Me a Better Path

A cry to God, to draw me towards himself, when I am fully distracted and caught up in this world, in the carnal senses, being reactionary, tossed about the waves of life.

When realizing that I have descended in thought, a reminder to raise my thoughts again, and see outside of this present moment, and look for larger things at work, often can instantly change an attitude and readjust perspective, to see how to overcome, or that this single event, is not as bothersome as I once had thought. Mostly this prayer is prayed when my actions become not what I intend. I reflect on how people deal with anger for instance, and realize that expressing anger, only creates more anger. Time is the only thing which subsides anger. Anger flees in time whether or not it is expressed in action. Understanding this, then, when I find myself, about to unleash the emotion of anger, I step back, and ask God, is that the best way to deal with this, what is making me angry, and is it justified, and how do I best deal with this situation or event, and how can I grow through it. Typically after a series of that dialogue, anger goes away, and a better solution is found, as my mind is raised to a higher more relaxed plane, where understanding, insight, and clarity are more freely accessed.

Spoken Prayer // You Have Helped Me to Grow in Kind Ways

Understanding that one of the purposes in life is to grow spiritually, it is therefore necessary to have events, people, and times in our lives, which by we grow, and transform. Understanding that this gentle resistance is useful in growing spiritually, I thank God, that He sends the most kindest and loving events with which to grow through, always knowing that God only gives what I can handle. And when the times are especially memorable and positive, I thank God all the more.

One should note that this is being reckless or foolish with one’s life, and then being upset about the consequences. When you live a peaceful life, and intend no harm toward others, a special place of peace and serenity can be found in which to live. It is in this place, that God will gentle correction will be most noticed. The perspective of that is not fair, will always hide, and kindness that could be spotted. For one who wishes to be like God, must understand that one’s mind must first be raised to a higher perspective, that does not live only in the moment, for God’s plans are greater than a single situation or single event. To rise above, means to look for meaning that is greater than just a single event of life, and learn to see how a bigger pattern emerges, which if looked for, may bring a different mindset.If you are not looking to grow, then of course, you may not see the kind hand of God, not bother to look for it, and you will ask many questions, for which you will not find suitable or fulfilling answers.

Spoken Prayer // There is no Less of You

A reminder to be grateful, and to know that no matter how much I become like Christ, no matter how much I might express or represent God, that no matter how much more God may be perceivable in me, that when I may seem greater, there is no less of God. I can not take away from God, I can not diminish God, by being more like God. I can not make God any less by being more like Christ. Just like a child can not take the place of a parent, all we who are born of Spirit, all called God’s children, and it is open to all, for all, without limitation. If you choose to be called God’s child, and thus intentionally transform your mind and soul to become more like Christ, than you shall reflect the nature and character of God, and your reflection, shall not diminish God’s own reflection.
