Welcome to Spoken Prayer.
Prayer can be a very powerful and quite personal tool in your spiritual life. I respect and believe that when you are in certain stages of life, that you will change your prayers, and that what you focus on will shift and change.
The prayers that I present on this site, are a combination of my own, others, and reflections of others. They may help you, they may add to where you are, or they may do nothing for you. I understand and I always hope that you will seek and find that which is for your most good.
I believe we are placed on the earth to grow. I believe “growing” is our purpose. As in many things in life, there are many ways to achieve a goal or a purpose. A goal is not single, and neither is purpose. They can be implemented and worked out in more ways than can be counted.
You might be starting on your journey, you may be seeking about, or you may be full steam in a journey, no matter what, I hope you find something that encourages you, or gives you something to hold on it, or lifts you up.
Some prayers are for building up, life affirmations or declarations. Some prayers are for general encouragement. Some prayers are for reminders of what to remember or how to reorient your current perspective. Some prayers are for denying what is false, and for overcoming challenges in your life, a place to find strength, courage, and persistence.
In addition to prayers, I enjoy music, more over I enjoy writing music. To make these prayers more enjoyable for myself, and also for you, I have put these prayers to music. Now the way it works is that I write the music independently, and the prayers independently. Then at different times, I record the prayers and the music. without the other in mind. Then through a systematic way, I choose through prayer and guidance to match the words to the music. Then I go and line up the words to the music. I do not edit the words, I let them fall on the music as they were. Sometimes I slightly change the arrangement of the music, but only a very little bit is done.
When I was younger I enjoyed looking at the credits in the cd’s and tapes, and enjoyed looking at the equipment that was used to produce the songs. I have decided to share this with you. On all the tracks, whenever I notated what was used, I have included a copy of the equipment list, and also the settings as available.
When writing music and prayers, in such a fast timeframe, sometimes there might be errors, or perhaps I didn’t play as well one day as another. Please, excuse me, and pardon my mistakes. This is something that I do on the side, after work, on the weekends, at night, I hope it finds the best for you, but please understand it might not be top quality radio or mainstream music that you are used to listening. I like a variety of music, and you will find that I change and vary tempos, and switch between rock, techno, trance, jazz, smooth jazz, and a couple other styles. Just for the curious, the keyboards for the most part are quantized in a midi program, and all but the techno tracks are live drums, meaning I played the trap kit. For the super curious I usually start with a tempo track, and play guitars, keys, bass to that tempo track, and then when everything is laid down, I go and play a full live drum track. Once the drum track is recorded, then I mute out the tempo track. For the even more curious than that, I typically, led by inner guidance, write the main chords for a song in under 5 minutes. The main instruments are played and done in about 3 hours. Mastering and listening takes a couple days, but al in all, a song start to finish for the most part is about 4 hours. All music is original, and composed, arranged, and produced by myself.
My gift to the everyone, to you and all who come to this site, is that you would find something here that is good, that helps you on your journey, where ever you may be. May some or all of what you find bless you, aspire you, strengthen you, encourage you, welcome you, comfort you, aide you, carry you on, or other wise contribute to the good in your life, that the goodness in your life, is made fuller, and greater every day. My deepest blessings and prayers be with you, and know, always, you are never alone, help is always near by, believe in present help, and it will arrive. Peace be with you, always.
